<--- Select a category from the list at the left There are several cleaners available for cleaning pool & spa surfaces and filters. It is highly recommended to use a cleaner specifically designed to clean pool & spa products. Household cleaners can cause foaming and leave stains and may not be compatible with pool & spa chemicals. Expert Pool & Spa recommends using a "Scotch Brite Pad" with the cleaner solution of your choice for optimum results. Use care with the pad to prevent scratching of the surface. It is important to keep the water line and skimmer wells clean at all times. Dirt and oil build up on the pool liner can damage the liner pattern and can be "burnt in" by sunlight exposure. We use GLB TLC with a scotch brite pad to clean the skimmer wells and water lines on all the pools we service with excellent results. The TLC cleaner cuts through the grease and oil with very little effort. Tile on concrete pools can develop scale build-up along with dirt and oils. Tile can be cleaned with muriatic acid or a pumice stone to remove scale build-up. It is best to clean the dirt and oil off the tile first with TLC Cleaner and a scotch-brite pad before using a pumice store or acid. Stainless steel ladders and hand rails can develop water spots on them and using a metal polish available at most auto parts stores is very effective in cleaning and polishing these items. Stainless steel rails and ladders can also be taken to a machine shop or polishing shop and be polished to a mirror finish. Winter is a good time for this procedure. Pool slides are made of a gel coated fiberglass and can be waxed with a commercially available boat type wax. You can also contact a boat company about having the slide professionally polished. We have seen excellent results with this procedure. Patio furniture can be cleaned with GLB Cover Care cleaner with excellent results. I have tried many cleaners on patio furniture including soapy water, Fantastic, 409, Simple Green and others but the Cover Care product works the best and fastest by far. Results are amazing! Expert Pool can also Powerwash your pool deck for a down deep, dirt removing new concrete appearance. Many of our customers have us perform this service for them each spring when we open the pool. Our standard pool opening includes light powerwashing for deck area clean up to remove leaves and light debris. Deep cleaning powerwashing is performed at an additional charge.
