PATIO
TONES will greatly enhance the beauty of any concrete patio or pool deck. Plain
or worn concrete gives a dull and uninteresting appearance, detracting from the
ambiance of the area. PATIO TONES adds life as well as protection.
PATIO TONES is also excellent for the restoration of sprayed and patterned
concrete surfacing systems.
Simply make any necessary repairs, clean the deck according to label
instructions, and roll on PATIO TONES. The acrylic formula lets you prepare and
coat in one day. The result will be a surface that is safe, beautiful and
protected.
Coverage: 90 - 125 square feet per gallon depending on surface porosity.
Available in five-gallon and one-gallon containers.
Two coats required on initial application.
Available in these attractive colors:
Ivory, Champagne, Cream Peach, Coral, Desert Sun, Sand Valley, Smoky Blue, and
Creek Stone.

Old decks will look new again with Patio Tones!
All concrete surfaces should be cleaned according to the following three step
cleaning process.
Step 1
Scrub area with a solution of No. 910 WASHING COMPOUND (tri-sodium phosphate)
and water to remove any oil film.
Step 2
Scrub the deck with a 10% solution of muriatic acid to remove mineral deposits
and open pores for penetration of PATIO TONES. Neutralize any remaining traces
of acid by repeating step one.
Step 3
PATIO TONES can now be applied directly to a wet surface. However, any puddles
should be dissipated. Roll on PATIO TONES using a medium nap roller equipped
with an extension handle. Allow first coat to dry four hours (average) before
second coat is applied. For more information refer to the label or request
Technical Bulletins No. 107 and No. 141.
PATIO TONES cures overnight. You can enjoy your new surface the next day!

PATIO DECK TONES Water Based Non-Slip Coating for Pool Decks
PATIO TONES deck coatings are lightly textured, slip resistant top coatings
specifically formulated for use on concrete pool decks and patios. They are
available in eight colors.
One big advantage to using PATIO TONES on a deck finish is that you may paint
over cracked or broken concrete that has been repaired thereby concealing any
substrate damage.
PATIO TONES has been tested for durability and bonding strength under the most
severe conditions and has proven to be a high quality, low cost way to improve
the appearance of concrete pool decks and patio areas. Because PATIO TONES is
water based, it can be applied to wet concrete.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface must be free of grease, suntan oil, body oil, dirt and foreign matter.
First sweep the area vigorously to remove all loose material. Then, scrub with a
solution of tri-sodium phosphate, or Olympic #910 Pool Washing Compound at a
ratio of eight ounces to one gallon of water. This will remove oils which
prevent adhesion. Hose off immediately with water. At that point, it is best to
acid wash the surface with 10% solution of muriatic acid. This creates pores to
allow adhesion. Hose off, and then repeat the tri-sodium phosphate procedure to
neutralize any remaining acid. If not neutralized, acid-salts will form and
impede PATIO TONES performance. Hose off one last time.
First Coat: Surface may be wet but do not roll PATIO TONES through
standing water or "puddles." On bone dry surfaces thin one pint per gallon with
water. Use a 1/2" nap roller cover on smooth surfaces. Use a 3/4" nap roller
cover on rougher surfaces. Flow on slowly and evenly. Avoid overspreading. Do
not apply when air or surface temperature is under 50 F. Avoid rolling during a
very hot, midday sun.
Drying Time: May be recoated in four hours in warm weather 80 F or above.
Longer in cooler weather. PATIO TONES should be given 24 hours curing time
before foot traffic is allowed.
Coverage: Average 80 - 120 square feet per gallon, depending on the
porosity of the surface.
Clean up: Clean application equipment with water immediately after use.
Previously Painted Surfaces
PATIO TONES will adhere to most other paints; however, any glossy areas should
be sanded before recoating. Any peeling or flaking paint must also be removed
before recoating.
