"Dichlor" is short for the following names:
Sodium Dichlor or "Dichlor" is a member of the "Stabilized" isocyanurate chlorine family. It provides chlorine to disinfect the pool/spa and, at the same time, provide cyanuric acid stabilizer to shield chlorine from decomposition by the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Dichlor comes in granular form only and has 62 available chlorine content. Dichlor granules are the only chlorine product with a nearly neutral pH of 6.0-7.0. Dichlor granules dissolve quickly in water and can be broadcasted on the water surface, pre-dissolved in a bucket of water or added to the pool with a Watermatic Automated Chlorination System. Because of the stable pH level, the use of dichlor as the primary sanitizer will result in fewer adjustments of the pH and Total Alkalinity of the water. Expert Pool & Spa recommends the use of Dichlor as the primary sanitizer for both pools and spas. It is the most economical, user friendly, safe for the pool/spa sanitizer available. Using a Watermatic Automatic Chlorination System virtually guarantees a crystal clear pool or spa all year long, which is simple to use and very reliable. Using dichlor in a spa is the safest way to add chlorine without over chlorinating or causing damage to the spa. With dichlor you know exactly how much chlorine has been added to the spa. Dichlor is easy to add to the water when you are finished using the spa. Tablet chlorine in a floater will over-chlorinate the spa and causes high concentrations of chlorine in a confined area around the floater itself which can damage the spa surface and the underside of the spa cover especially. The tablets can also sit on the surface of the spa and cause damage. Dichlor is highly recommended as the sanitizer of choice for spas.
