Green Water

Postby mroberson82 on Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:26 pm

I have a 65,000 gallon, vynel lined pool. I have been struggling for weeks with algae. I have enough free chlorine (10ppm after shocking) in the water to kill any living thing but my water remains green. PH and Alk are right on line. Any ideas. I am at a loss.

65k gallons is a very large Vinyl pool. You might have 10ppm of FREE chlorine after shocking but what is your FREE chlorine reading in there the next day? Just because the water is green does not mean it is algae in the water. You could simply have inadequate filtration. Your sand may need to be changed, or your filter serviced. Sounds to me like a filtration issue...
